In all three dispensations God has saved His people, separated them from evil, and washed evil out of their lives by using water. In the case of the great flood and the crossing of the Red Sea, God gave salvation through water as the only way His people could be saved. It is no different for us today. We must be saved through immersion in water. God promises us salvation and newness of life, but only when we obey His will and are saved through water.
